Come celebrate our 70th birthday with us!
Our scholarships have been a major part of our community contribution. We have given scholarships for many years to the 2 high schools, the Yorkton Music Festival and to Suncrest College.
Added to these, changes have been made to focus on supporting women going back to school whose education was interrupted. This New Beginnings Grant first awarded by CFUW Yorkton, now provincially recognized is “unlike many scholarships that are based on academic achievements, including most of those provided by the CFUW clubs and members in Saskatchewan, this grant aims to help a woman create a New Beginning for herself and her family, by overcoming challenges through the power of education.”
To fund these awards, we run our annual book sales, hot dog and concession consignments, garage sales, and many other fundraising efforts over the years. These wouldn’t be possible without the ongoing support of the Yorkton community at large. So, even though we are a small group, we are mighty and hope to continue making a difference in our local and global community. So... We celebrate these achievements today as we raise our glasses to 70 years and more.
