Come celebrate our 70th birthday with us!
“We can't build a future for our grandchildren with a system built for our grandparents.”
~António Guterres, Secretary-General of United Nations
For the past few years, we have organized public events with speakers, such as Autism, Recruitment & Retention of Doctors, HIV, Immigration and Homelessness. We’ve held panel discussions with different stake holders. Examples: Affordable Housing for Seniors and Cyberbullying, the latter recognized nationally, as well as Homelessness. Also, partnering for some of these events with Shelwin House, Immigrant Women and the Society for the Involvement of Good Neighbours (SIGN) has been an excellent way to connect with community, supporting their causes alongside the other outreach projects to the needy.
Most recently, CFUW Yorkton has, among other activities focussed on advocacy, action and education to rebuild from the ravages of covid and post covid impacts on (1) small business ventures in Yorkton, (2) trust and respect in the spirit of reconciliation with our First Nation communities and (3) Exploring the Rise of Intergenerational Health risks like Dementia and its impacts on our abilities, behaviours and communications.
Come celebrate CFUW Yorkton's 70th Anniversary with us!
On September 14, "Canadian Federation of University Women's Day" in Saskatchewan, CFUW Yorkton will celebrate our 70th anniversary at an evening event at the Godfrey Dean Art Gallery (49 Smith Street East, Yorkton).
